NBA: Is the Bulls’ Hot Start a False Dawn?

The Bulls have been mired in mediocrity in the past few months, so many are surprised at their undefeated start to the 2025-26 NBA campaign. Billy Donovan’s side won their first three games against the Pistons, Magic, and Hawks, and they’re keen to make it four in a row when they host the Kings tomorrow. Besides the Bulls, the Sixers, Thunder, and Spurs have yet to taste defeat this year.

Elsewhere, the Rockets, Cavaliers, Magic, Hawks, Pacers, Pelicans, Blazers, Lakers, and Grizzlies will visit the Raptors, Celtics, Pistons, Nets, Mavericks, Nuggets, Jazz, Timberwolves, and Suns, and all of them are ready to provide basketball fans their usual dose of NBA 2025 highlights.

It’s another busy day in the Association tomorrow, and SBOTOP is here to preview the Top 3 games on the 10-game slate, as well as their NBA 2025 odds.

Sacramento Kings @ Chicago Bulls

The Bulls are off to a brisk start, as they’ve caught fire on the offensive end. Chicago has scored at least 110 points in their first three games, and at least five players have scored in double digits in their games thus far. It remains to be seen how long Billy Donovan’s men keep this up.

During their recent 128-123 victory against the Hawks, eight players breached the 10-point mark. Ayo Dosunmu came off the bench and scored a team-high 21 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field. Josh Giddey, Nikola Vucevic, Matas Buzelis, Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, Patrick Williams, and Isaac Okoro added 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 12, and 10 points. Chicago will still be without the services of Coby White (calf) and Zach Collins (wrist).

The Kings are fresh from a 107-101 road loss against the Thunder after a late collapse. Zach LaVine pumped in 23 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field in the losing effort. DeMar DeRozan, Russell Westbrook, Keon Ellis, and Domantas Sabonis contributed 19, 16, 12, and 10 points. Sacramento, who are 1-3 to start this campaign, have sorely missed the services of Keegan Murray, who is still recovering from a thumb injury.  Rookie swingman Nique Clifford is another notable absentee due to a hamstring injury.

Betting tip – Chicago Bulls Asian Handicap -5.50 @ 2.03

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Boston Celtics

Two of the Top 2 seeds in the Eastern Conference last year will square off at the TD Garden tomorrow. However, it’ll be under different circumstances this time, as the hosts no longer have the same championship core.

The Celtics dropped their first three games against the Sixers, Knicks, and Pistons before they defeated the Pelicans 122-90 yesterday. In the blowout road win, Anfernee Simons caught fire in the final period and finished with 25 points, six rebounds, and six three-pointers on 9-for-17 shooting from the field off the bench. Payton Pritchard, Luka Garza, Jaylen Brown, Josh Minott, and Derrick White added 18, 16, 15, 15, and 11 points.

Boston’s Achilles heel has been their rebounding, and Cleveland’s frontcourt could exploit that tomorrow, with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen in tow.

After losing to the Knicks in the first game, the Cavaliers beat the Nets, Bucks, and Pistons. Their 116-95 win against Detroit was their best outing so far this year, as Donovan Mitchell went off for 35 points on 13-for-18 shooting from the field. Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, De’Andre Hunter, and Sam Merrill added 20, 15, 13, and 11 points.

Lonzo Ball is expected to return after missing the Pistons game due to injury management. However, the same can’t be said for Darius Garland (toe) and Max Strus (foot).

Betting tip – Cleveland Cavaliers Asian Handicap -5.00 @ 2.11

Los Angeles Lakers @ Minnesota Timberwolves

The Lakers and the Timberwolves have 2-2 records to start this season, and both sides are keen to return to winning ways. However, they’ll have to do so without their stars.

After Austin Reaves’ unreal 51-point game in their 127-120 win over the Kings, the Lakers guard had 41 points in the team’s 122-108 defeat against the Blazers. With Luka Doncic and LeBron James on the sidelines, the 27-year-old combo guard is expected to shoulder the heavy offensive load again.

The Timberwolves will miss Anthony Edwards for at least two weeks due to a strained hamstring. In Minnesota’s first game without Edwards, they lost 127-114 to Denver at home. Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randle, Naz Reid, Donte DiVincenzo, and Mike Conley had 25, 24, 18, 12, and 10 points in the losing effort. Conley will continue to start in Edwards’ place.

Betting tip – Minnesota Timberwolves Asian Handicap -7.00 @ 1.92
