Bayern Munich continue to be the best side, not only in Germany but also in Europe, as they remain undefeated after their first 16 matches across all competitions so far this season. Of course, the Bavarians hope to maintain the status quo when the 10th matchday of the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign commences this weekend. Vincent Kompany’s men will hit the road to take on Union Berlin this Saturday.
Elsewhere, VfL Wolfsburg, RB Leipzig, Heidenheim, Borussia Dortmund, Koln, FC St. Pauli, Augsburg, and Mainz will also visit Werder Bremen, Hoffenheim, Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburger SV, Borussia Monchengladbach, SC Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart, and Eintracht Frankfurt, as all of them plan to tack on more points to try to catch up with the Bavarian giants.
Without further ado, continue reading below, as SBOTOP previews some of the top matches to watch out for this weekend.
Hoffenheim vs RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig are on a four-game winning streak across all competitions, following their 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund. During this stretch, Ole Werner’s men have been on the Bundesliga 2025 highlights reel, having netted 15 goals while conceding only three on the other end.
Die Roten Bullen registered a 3-1 win against VfB Stuttgart last time out to solidify their hold of the second seed. Their youngsters continue to do well, as Yan Diomande and Romulo Cardoso found the back of the net, and the team also benefited from Jeff Chabot’s own goal. Tiago Tomas prevented a shutout win for RB Leipzig.

Christoph Baumgartner didn’t score last weekend, but he remains RB Leipzig’s top marksman with five goals, good for joint-third in the Golden Boot race. RB Leipzig will only miss a handful of players against Hoffenheim, namely Castello Lukeba (shoulder), Benjamin Henrichs (Achilles), and Kosta Nedeljkovic (knee).
Saturday marks Christian Ilzer’s 34th match in charge of Hoffenheim, with the Austrian’s first match being a wild 4-3 home win against RB Leipzig on Matchday 11 last term.
After a two-game winless run last month, Hoffenheim have reeled off three consecutive league wins, including a 3-2 result over VfL Wolfsburg. Wouter Burger bagged a brace, and Grischa Promel also scored. Fisnik Asllani is also among the Golden Boot frontrunners with five league goals this year.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Heidenheim
Bayer Leverkusen dropped to fifth in the German top-flight standings, following their 3-0 loss against Bayer Leverkusen last Sunday. Kasper Hjulmand’s men are eager to bounce back against Heidenheim, and the Bundesliga 2025 odds see this as a winnable game for them.
Die Werkself are coming off a 1-0 win against Benfica in the Champions League, as Patrik Schick came off the bench and scored the marginal goal five minutes after the hour mark. With Hjulmand at the helm, Bayer Leverkusen have seven wins, three draws, and two losses.
Their biggest threat in the goal department has been veteran wing-back Alejandro Grimaldo, who has four league goals and three assists this season. Ernest Poku is doing well in his first Bundesliga season with three league goals and one assist. Schick, Edmond Tapsoba, Malik Tillman, and Christian Kofane have nine goals combined.
Bayer Leverkusen will miss a handful of players against FCH, as Equi Fernandez (knee), Exequiel Palacios (groin), Nathan Tella (knee), Lucas Vazquez (hamstring), and Axel Tape (thigh) are all in the infirmary.
Heidenheim are at the bottom of the standings with only five points. Frank Schmidt’s side has not taken a single point away from home yet this season, although they’ve only lost one of their last three.
Budu Zivzivadze scored in the team’s 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. The Georgian striker will likely line up with top scorer Stefan Schimmer (two league goals) and Arijon Ibrahimovic in the final third this weekend.
Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich
Vincent Kompany is fast approaching Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich record of 10 straight Bundesliga victories to begin the season. The Bavarian giants have never lost to Union Berlin in their 12 previous meetings (W8, D4).
Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz were all rested against Bayer Leverkusen last Sunday. But Bayern Munich didn’t skip a beat against Bayer Leverkusen, as Serge Gnabry and Nicolas Jackson scored, and Loic Bade scored an own goal. The team is also coming off a 2-1 win against PSG in the Champions League, as Diaz bagged a brace before he was sent off.
Union Berlin are 10th in the standings with 11 points, and Steffen Baumgart’s side is winless in their last two league matches (D1, L1). Die Eisernen will likely play on the back foot, as they’ve seen less possession than any other Bundesliga side so far this season (37-per cent).
