Mbappe can’t stop scoring for Real Madrid

​The only knock on Real Madrid is their defensive depth, as Antonio Rudiger, Dani Carvajal, and Dean Huijsen are unavailable on Wednesday due to injuries. At the same time, David Alaba and Dani Ceballos are questionable. However, there’s a chance that full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ferland Mendy will play after returning to the training ground recently.

 

Juventus’ attack has somewhat stalled

Since their 4-3 Serie A win over Inter Milan, Juventus couldn’t buy a win. And since their 4-4 draw against Borussia Dortmund last month, the Bianconeri have only found the back of the net four times in their last five matches.

To make matters worse for Juventus, they will again be without defencive stars Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal due to injuries. This means more playing time for Federico Gatti, Lloyd Kelly, and Daniele Rugani.

Real Madrid and Juventus are among the regulars in the Champions League. Of the clubs’ 21 prior meetings in Europe’s showpiece competition, twice they have met in the finals, with Real Madrid winning both in 1998 (1-0) and 2017 (4-1).

However, it has been a while since they squared off. Real Madrid and Juventus were slated in a two-legged quarter-finals tie after eliminating PSG and Tottenham. The La Liga side won 3-0 in the first leg before losing 3-1 in the next leg, surviving Juventus’ comeback attempt. Real Madrid eventually won it all, defeating Liverpool 3-1 in the final.

Real Madrid are the winningest team in the competition’s history with 15 trophies, and it’s not even close. Meanwhile, Juventus only have two trophies and have the most runners-up finishes (seven).
