There is a lot at stake on the final day of the 2025 Major League Soccer regular season, as several teams are jockeying for position, while certain players are making a late run for some of the most coveted individual awards.
According to the Major League Soccer 2025 odds, Lionel Messi is poised to win his second consecutive Landon Donovan MVP award for his consistency this season. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner can also win the Golden Boot for the first time, as he is a key reason why Inter Miami are among the top teams in the Eastern Conference this year.
Elsewhere, the Colorado Rapids are trying to sneak into the playoff picture in the Western Conference, but they’ll face a formidable LAFC squad on Decision Day. FC Dallas also hope to tack on more points at the expense of the top-seeded Vancouver Whitecaps.

Nashville vs Inter Miami
Lionel Messi has fond memories against Nashville, as it was against them that he won his first trophy with Inter Miami during the 2023 Leagues Cup final. At the time, the Herons won via a long penalty shootout.
This time, we’ll be watching to see if Messi can add another piece of silverware to his large trophy case. With 26 league goals, he’s slightly ahead of LAFC’s Denis Bouanga (24 league goals) with one more game remaining for each. Besides Messi, Inter Miami fans will savour these last few games with Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who will retire at the end of this season.
After dropping points in back-to-back games against Toronto (1-1) and Chicago (5-3) before the international break, the Herons bounced back with positive Major League Soccer 2025 results against New England (4-1) and Atlanta United (4-0).
Sam Surridge is Messi’s opposite number, and the 27-year-old striker is also in the mix for the Golden Boot award with 23 league goals, though he may need to score at least four times to snatch the coveted individual recognition. Nashville just won the US Open Cup recently against Austin (2-1).
Given their current standings, this match could offer a glimpse into their potential playoff matchup, as Inter Miami are the third seed and Nashville are the sixth seed.

Colorado Rapids vs LAFC

As mentioned, Denis Bouanga is also gunning for the Golden Boot, and the Gabon international can win it by putting on a show against the Colorado Rapids this Saturday evening.
A key reason why the Black and Gold are a Top 3 seed in the Western Conference is that Bouanga has formed a lethal strike partnership with Son Heung-Min. Bouanga and Son have combined to score 18 of LAFC’s last 20 goals. As a result, the team has only lost one game since the Tottenham legend arrived.
On the other hand, this is a must-win game for the Colorado Rapids, led by head coach Chris Armas, as it is their last chance to get a playoff berth. The Pids are 10th in the standings at 40 points, level with ninth-seeded Real Salt Lake, as they have tailed off in the home stretch with just one win since mid-August.
Rafael Navarro is the Colorado Rapids’ leading scorer with 12 goals. However, the Brazilian forward hasn’t found the back of the net since their 4-2 loss to Sporting KC last August.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs FC Dallas
The Vancouver Whitecaps have taken the top seed in the Western Conference, and they can seal the deal by not losing to FC Dallas this Saturday. Considering they were the eight seed last year, this is a major turnaround for Vancouver.
The Whitecaps haven’t lost a game since Thomas Müller arrived, as the former Bayern Munich forward has been in top form. The 36-year-old German international already has 11 goal involvements in his last six games. Besides Müller, Vancouver are flanked by Brian White and Emmanuel Sabbi, who have combined for 23 league goals this term.
As for FC Dallas, they’ve done a commendable job getting themselves out of the cellar over the past two months and into the playoff race, and they did it despite Lucho Acosta’s acrimonious summer exit. They now control their destiny, but they’ll have to beat Vancouver without the influential forward pair of Petar Musa and Logan Farrington, who are out due to suspension.
Betting tip – Vancouver Whitecaps Asian Handicap -1.00 @ 1.84
